The Community Relations Specialist’s primary responsibility is to identify, establish, and foster relationships with local SUD treatment providers and community recovery resources. This role will be an essential aspect of axial’s Comprehensive Recovery Solution, serving as the primary liaison between axial and the recovery community. The Community Relations Specialist will work directly with treatment programs to establish collaborative relationships that will ultimately facilitate enrollment in axial’s Comprehensive Recovery Solution. In addition, this individual will also work with key community resources focused on addressing the social determinants of health including housing, transportation, and finance. The Community Relations Specialist will ultimately collaborate with axial’s Recovery Partners and Peer Recovery Specialists to ensure that members receive the best care possible and have access to those resources which will ensure maintenance of long-term recovery. Our ideal candidate would have experience in the field of substance use disorders and have a strong understanding of the recovery ecosystem. Strong communication and relationship building skills are a must, along with the ability to multi-task.


  • Represent axialHealthcare and act as a liaison between the company and the recovery community
  • Identify key social resources within the community that can aid those individuals actively pursuing long term recovery
  • Develop partnerships with those key community resources that will allow members to efficiently access their programs
  • Develop and foster relationships between axial and local treatment facilities that are providing services for those struggling with SUD
  • Establish protocols and procedures for the referral of members from local treatment facilities into axial’s Comprehensive Recovery Solution
  • Ensure continuous quality improvement relative to the referral process and accessing social resources


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific/healthcare discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with psychiatric and/or substance abuse treatment; experience in settings that include inpatient, partial, and/or outpatient treatment and care management preferred
  • Strong customer service-orientation, interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communications
  • Ability to function in interdisciplinary setting
  • Thrive in a fast-paced work environment, and doesn’t bat an eye at change
  • Belief that the status quo can be improved upon, and an innate desire for process improvement, problem solving, and results
