Chairman and CEO, John Donahue, represented axialHealthcare on the The Hill in Washington, DC this week at the New Frontier for Mental Health and Addiction. The event, hosted by Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), focused on eliminating the existing disparity in care for those suffering from mental health disorders and offered guidance for making safe and effective treatment available for all Americans experiencing addiction.
A bipartisan group that included Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senator John McCain (R-AZ), NIH/NIDA Director Dr. Nora Volkow and the Surgeon General expressed their commitment to solving the national crisis of addiction and affirmed axial’s mission: improving care for patients in pain, mitigating opioid misuse and providing evidence-based treatment for patients battling opioid use disorder.
Donahue said, “It was both extraordinarily moving and spiritually uplifting to know that America is increasingly unified around one of our nation’s most important challenges.”
